It is really nice article !!

Using the PERT technique, project manager gets closer value of estimation of tasks and if we are adding contingency to it, Project Manager might have closer completion date of project.

Hi Kareem,
I am new to Project Management, recently I attained my Master Certification and now I'm am teaching myself how to use MS Project 2010. I was wondering if you have any excercises you can pass on which I can practice from and gain more knowledge of the tool in order to help me secure a good job. I just purchased a very good book on MS Project 2010 it's titled MS Project 2010 IN DEPTH. Being unemployed at the present time I have to find ways to be productive, learn but, not take too long! Thank you in advance for any suggestion or advise you have to offer, I great appreciate it and your blog is a fantastic source to me!

Kind Regards,
Katie

Hi, I've a set of activities (100 activities) and I did the duration, start, finish times & cost assigning, resources all in Gantt sheet.

Now, after I entered the PERT optimistic, pessimistic times & clicked "calculate PERT", the summary tasks has the "####" in duration field. Can this be fixed?

Thanks in advance

Good one.

I would say w.r.t PERT and CPM, apart from duration estimates difference, PERT and CPM assume the sequencing logic is deterministic.
